Ainsley update

Well, I finally have a few minutes to update the blog. Usually when Ainsley is sleeping I'm either cleaning up the flat, doing laundry or taking a nap myself. Hence the reason it's been 3 weeks since I've written anything or put any new pictures of her on here. Ainsley is growing so fast. Of course she's still a tiny thing but she feels so much bigger to us now when we hold her. She'll be 8 weeks tomorrow and Tuesday she's going to get weighed, measured and get her first set of immunisations (aaahhh!). We'll let you know how that goes. I'm sure I'll cry more than she does. I'm a big baby. That's why Andy's going in the room with her. Anyway, Ainsley is sleeping pretty well at night, usually about 5 or 6 hours before we have to wake up and feed her. One night a couple weeks ago she slept for 11 hours and we thought, "Oh yes, this is great!" She hasn't done that again of course but at least we got a taste of what's to come. Most of her baby acne is gone but now she has cradle cap really bad. Half the time her hair looks like a big grease ball because we're always putting oil in it to try and get rid of all the dry scalp. This is the life! Just a couple days ago she took her first train ride. We went down to Edinburgh to get her a "Consular Birth Abroad" certificate, a US passport (so she can come home with us for the holidays... I don't think it would be a very good idea to leave her here) and a Social Security number. Also, we shopped around for a few hours while Andy went to a lecture at the University of Edinburgh. She was the model child the whole day! Yay! Now hopefully when we fly to the states (in November) she'll be just as perfect. :) The weather the last couple weeks has been fantastic (although you wouldn't know that if you looked out the window right now because it's cold, gray and rainy) so we've been going for walks every day. I need and like the exercise and Ainsley loves being pushed in her stroller or carried in the Baby Bjorn. Usually she falls asleep which is a nice little break for us too. I'm still loving not working. The maternity laws over here are great! It's looking like I'll go back to work the beginning of February even though the law permits me to be off until June. I think that's it for now. I hear my baby girl crying which usually mean she's hungry or tired. If she's hungry then she'll be needing me. Gotta go. Enjoy the new pictures.

Oh my great goodness - she is so cute!!! I'm glad to see new pix. We visited with Jack and Rebecca yesterday for a couple of hours - it was great to see them. I love her hair... I have to say that she sure looks a lot like Andy in a couple of those. We love you - TALK to you soon! S & J
